InterHOME is a separating wall system suitable for side-by-side residential dwellings such as duplexes or townhouses. It is designed to satisfy the BCA’s fire safety and sound insulation requirements for separating walls.

A key advantage of InterHOME is the modular central fire barrier built between the double stud frames. The central fire barrier eliminates the need for timber blocking and allows both wall cavities to carry services without compromising fire or acoustic performance. It can be built by carpenters who friction fit the 25mm ShaftLiner panels or double 13mm FireShield into the J-Track and H-Stud.

Outer layers of plasterboard are installed to non-fire rated installation methods and penetrations are not required to be fire rated. [For installation of internal plasterboard wall linings refer to section 4.1.1 or 4.1.2].
