Plasterboard may be installed over masonry walls to create a decorative finish. It removes the need for render and may also upgrade the fire and acoustic performance of a wall.

Services may be run in the cavity between the masonry and plasterboard, thus avoiding the need for chasing of masonry walls.

‘Masonry’ includes concrete, bricks, blocks and autoclaved aerated concrete.
